AS Roma are preparing a New Year move for Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas, according to reports in Italy.
The midfielder's future at Stamford Bridge remains uncertain following the arrival of manager Antonio Conte in the summer.
The Italian has steered his side to the top of the Premier League with a 3-4-3 formation and Fabregas is not his first choice in central midfield.
The former Arsenal and Barcelona man has started just two league games all season, with Nemanja Matic and N'Golo Kante preferred to him in the engine room.
That lack of game time has led to suggestions that he could leave the club when the transfer window opens, with a long list of clubs considering a move.
And now, according to Il Tempo, Roma are very keen on signing him and are currently exploring the possibility of bringing him in.
However, the transfer fee may prove a stumbling block given Fabregas still has over two years left on his current deal and Chelsea, with a title challenge to manage, are under no pressure to sell such a talented player.
